Gears 2 is offering a limited time multiplayer event: Triple XP in Horde and multiplayer modes. Until Nov 16th, all XP is tripled, and there are a slew of other features and playlists.

Gears 2 DLC, the complete collection, now available
The new Gears 2 DLC comes in two flavors: 7 new maps (featuring some classic remakes) and a deleted bonus scene single-player level for $15, or all that *PLUS* all previous DLC (19 multiplayer maps total) for $20.
This is a good chance to bring together the multiplayer community. For $20 you can get everything and be up to date with everyone else.
I finally beat: Gears of War 2
I finally beat Gears of War 2. I played through the entire campaign on Hardcore difficulty, co-op with Detnap. Together we defeated the 5 Acts of the campaign, each more varied than the one before. For any fan of Gears 1, Gears 2 is a must-play, and easy to recommend to any fan of shooter mechanics. However, despite accessibility, Gears 2 is not as easy to jump into.

We picked up Gears as our game. First round was a bit of a blow out, but the teams of Phokal, Zazz, Boramis vs. cvang, kFlair, and Euphoric seemed like quite a well-balanced match-up. It was a fun time had by all until Live decided to hiccup. In one second we lost our live connections, which the game detects and then kicks you from the game.
Hopefully this downtime doesn’t occur next week when the game is tentatively GTA IV.

I’m thinking the next pLayday can be Gears of War. Chue will probably be warmed up and turn us all into tiny chunks of meat, but it should be a fun if we can get the team balance down. Or remove the sniper rifle from all the maps.
Any suggestions on maps? playtype will probably be the respawning one (name?).
Oh, here’s your reminder now. Go get the free map packs available online now. They are quite large, so waiting until Tuesday may cut into playtime or map selection.
