Valve offers up some evidence that the $60 price point for the current generation of games isn’t as helpful as the publishers were hoping it would be. Sales of Left4Dead increased 3000% during their weekend sale. Last gen my sweat spot was $40, and even now I rarely pick up games for more than $45. With some of the recent Steam sales I’ve been picking up games I never would have otherwise, including Left4Dead PC, since I already owned the 360 version. I’m glad digital delivery has taken off so it allows this kind of experimentation.
